The Broken Brotherhood

The Broken Brotherhood is a fantasy fiction book written by Nathan Sorenson. The story is about Zelus, who was once a powerful warlock. He was betrayed by the person he loved the most, and his magical powers were taken from him. He was unjustly accused of murder. He was also branded a slave and a traitor to his kingdom. Zelus was born of dark blood, so he still possesses his demonic powers. He has always fought the urge to use black magic, but he is forced to use his darkness to free himself and other innocent people from slavery.
The Jaborean Knights used to be the most elite military force in all of the thirteen kingdoms, but they were almost all killed. Only a few of them survived. Just like Zelus, the Knights were betrayed by people they trusted most. They became known as the Broken Brotherhood. The training to become a Knight is rigorous and intense. It isn’t easy, but Zelus is determined to join the Brotherhood. Their job is to protect all of the thirteen kingdoms. With the Brotherhood, Zelus feels like he finally belongs and has found his calling.
Zelus has to keep his dark blood a secret from the Knights. If the truth gets out, he will be kicked out and likely executed. Anyone cursed with dark blood will never be accepted in a moral military force like the Brotherhood. Can Zelus escape his past and control his darkness inside? Will his heritage be uncovered? Can he get over all the betrayals he has dealt with from the people he trusted most? Will he finally find true acceptance from the Knights, or will he once again be left alone and broken?
